Eliminate Down: Collectors Cartridge (Genesis/Mega Drive) - Limited Edition
Strictly Limited Games

A holy grail Genesis shmup, finally official, finally affordable in the sense that it exists at all. Eliminate Down Collectors Cartridge for Genesis/Mega Drive Limited Edition marks the first time this legendary shooter has been officially released outside of Japan and South Korea. Produced in collaboration with Retro-Bit for Strictly Limited's Partner Store, this is a game that's been commanding astronomical prices on the secondary market for decades, and now it exists as a legitimate new production cartridge.

Aprinet made exactly one game, and this was it. Low production numbers in 1993 combined with growing cult status among shmup enthusiasts turned Eliminate Down into one of the most expensive Genesis cartridges in existence. The original runs are estimated at only a few thousand units total. This re-release doesn't diminish that history. It extends the game's reach to collectors who refuse to pay speculative prices for something they actually want to play.

The package includes an Emerald Nebula cartridge compatible with both NTSC Genesis and PAL Mega Drive consoles, a full-color instruction manual, an individually numbered lenticular cartridge slipcover, and reversible inlay box art featuring both the original and new cover artwork. The 5-volt chip ensures safe operation on original hardware, and the beveled insert points protect your console's cartridge pins.

The gameplay holds up. You pilot the Steel Pylon against space-born lifeforms threatening Earth, and there's even a secret difficulty code hidden in the manual for those who find the original challenge too steep. For Genesis collectors, this is the cartridge that was missing from almost everyone's library. Not anymore.
