Clive Barker and SteelBooks go together like horror and bad decisions. The Clive Barker's Jericho Special Edition on PlayStation 3 houses this supernatural squad-based shooter in a premium steel case that looks appropriately menacing on a shelf. Jericho was Barker's return to video games after the cult classic Undying, putting players in control of a seven-member paranormal military squad fighting across multiple time periods against an ancient evil called the Firstborn.

The game leaned hard into Barker's signature brand of grotesque, imaginative horror, and while critics were split on the gameplay, nobody questioned the visual design. That's what makes this Special Edition's inclusion of a concept art book such a smart pairing. The book showcases Barker's artwork and the evolution of the game's characters, environments, and monsters from sketch to screen.

Seeing how that twisted imagination translated from paper to polygon is genuinely fascinating for horror fans and Barker devotees. As a UK exclusive SteelBook release, this one didn't flood the market, and finding a complete copy with the art book intact takes some digging. PS3-era horror collectors have a relatively short list of truly interesting special editions to chase, and Jericho's combination of SteelBook packaging, Clive Barker's direct involvement, and supplementary art materials puts it firmly on that list.

It's a niche piece for a niche game, and that's exactly the kind of thing we collect.
