Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Emperor's edition
In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war, and apparently some really nice packaging. The Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Emperor's Edition on PlayStation 3 is a focused, no-nonsense collector's release for Relic Entertainment's brutal third-person shooter. You get a transparent O-ring sleeve over the case, a lenticular art card that shifts between images as you tilt it, and DLC codes printed on the back of that card for Space Wolves armor and Dark Templar armor unlocks.
That's the whole package, and for 40K faithful, it's enough. The lenticular card is the real draw here. It's a display piece that actually does something when you pick it up, a small bit of visual trickery that rewards handling rather than just shelf-sitting.
The Space Wolves and Dark Templar DLC let you rep two of the Imperium's most iconic chapters in multiplayer, which in 2011 was a meaningful flex. Space Marine itself was a revelation for Warhammer fans, the first game that truly captured what it feels like to be an eight-foot-tall genetically engineered super soldier chainsawing through Orks. The Emperor's Edition didn't need to overdo it.
The game did the heavy lifting. This edition just gave collectors a slightly sharper version to display, with enough chapter-specific DLC to declare your allegiance. For the Emperor.
