Vanquish (lenticular edition)
Sega10/26/2010REGION 2

Vanquish already looked like the future when it launched, and the lenticular edition on Playstation 3 leaned into that with a 3D animated sleeve that practically dares you to tilt it back and forth like a kid with a cereal box prize. Released across Europe in October 2010, this edition is identical to the standard game but comes wrapped in a plastic lenticular cover that gives Sam Gideon's rocket-sliding chaos an extra layer of visual punch.

Shinji Mikami's high-speed third-person shooter never sold the way it deserved to, which is something the collector community figured out long before the mainstream gaming press started writing "underrated gems" lists. That commercial underperformance means the lenticular variant, which was already a limited European release, exists in smaller numbers than you'd expect for a major publisher title.

The lenticular sleeve itself is the draw here. It's a display piece that catches light and movement in a way standard cases simply can't. On a shelf full of uniform PS3 spines, this one breaks the pattern and demands attention. For Vanquish fans and Mikami completionists, it's one of three distinct PS3 collector variants to track down, and the lenticular is arguably the most visually striking of the bunch. If you're building a PS3 shelf that represents the best of that generation's action games, this belongs on it.
