Sam Fisher's most critically acclaimed mission got the collector's treatment with Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory Limited Collector's Edition for PlayStation 2. This edition comes in a metal keep case (an imitation SteelBook, not the genuine article, but don't let that stop you) and includes a bonus DVD packed with extra content.

Chaos Theory was the peak of the original Splinter Cell trilogy. The lighting engine, the level design, the co-op missions. Everything clicked. It was the game that proved stealth action could be both methodical and thrilling, and the PS2 version brought that experience to the largest install base of the generation. The Limited Collector's Edition acknowledged that this was something special, even at launch.

The metal case is a nice piece of shelf candy. Yes, purists will note it's not a true SteelBook, but the visual effect is the same, and it stands out immediately next to standard PS2 keep cases. In a library of hundreds of black plastic cases, metal catches the eye. The bonus DVD adds period-appropriate behind-the-scenes content that captures Ubisoft Montreal at arguably their creative peak.

For PS2 collectors building a stealth or tactical action section, the Chaos Theory Limited Collector's Edition is essential. It represents one of the best games on the platform in premium packaging, and it's the kind of piece that earns its spot through quality rather than hype. Sam Fisher never needed to shout to make an impression, and neither does this edition.
