Everything in the Switch version, just rarer. The Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection Collector's Edition for PlayStation 4 contains the full NeoGeo compilation alongside the same premium extras, but with production numbers cut to just 1,200 copies worldwide. That smaller run makes the PS4 variant the scarcer sibling in a set that was already limited.

The collection itself gathers every NeoGeo-era Samurai Shodown title into one package, preserving the arcade-perfect versions of games that shaped the weapons fighter genre from 1993 onward. On PS4, you get the benefit of playing these classics on a big screen with a DualShock in hand, which is about as close to the arcade experience as most of us will get without buying a cabinet.

Inside the official NeoGeo box, numbered at 1,200, you'll find a 104-page artbook packed with never-before-seen design documents and illustrations pulled from across the franchise's history. Two exclusive soundtrack CDs capture the distinctive, atmospheric audio that always made Samurai Shodown feel more cinematic than its peers. Seven lithographs in the colors of the saga give you a visual timeline of the series that works beautifully displayed together or individually.

The NeoGeo branding on the box carries serious collector credibility. It signals that this isn't just another PS4 remaster bundle. It's a curated archive of one of SNK's most important properties, packaged with the kind of care that the fighting game community recognizes and values. With 600 fewer copies than the Switch version, the PS4 edition is the one that collectors will be hunting for years from now.
