Forget the game for a second. The Resistance 3 Doomsday Edition for PlayStation 3 is essentially a PlayStation Move starter kit wearing a Resistance 3 costume. Inside you'll find a PlayStation Move Wand, a PlayStation Move Navigation controller, a PlayStation Eye camera, and a PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter peripheral.

That's the full motion control ecosystem Sony was pushing in 2011, bundled with one of the few shooters that actually made good use of it. The Sharp Shooter is the centerpiece, a plastic gun peripheral that snaps the Move wand and Navigation controller into a rifle-shaped housing. It's ridiculous.

It's also surprisingly functional, and Resistance 3's campaign was genuinely enhanced by motion aiming. This edition represents a very specific moment in PlayStation history, when Sony believed motion controls were the future and invested heavily in getting the hardware into living rooms. The Doomsday Edition was their Trojan horse, bundling hundreds of dollars worth of peripherals with a high-profile exclusive.

For collectors, this is a time capsule of PS3-era ambition. The Sharp Shooter alone has become a curiosity piece, a bulky plastic artifact from a timeline where we all played shooters standing up in our living rooms. Complete-in-box sets with all four peripherals untouched are getting harder to find, making this one of the more interesting PS3 bundle editions to track down.
