Race Driver: GRID Reloaded
REGION 2

Greatest Hits releases don't usually get collectors excited, but this one has a trick up its exhaust pipe. The Race Driver: GRID Reloaded edition for Playstation 3 was a budget re-release that bundled in DLC codes for both the Prestige Pack and the 8-Ball Pack, content that was previously only available as separate digital purchases.

Codemasters built GRID as a love letter to the full spectrum of motorsport, from touring cars to drift events to demolition derbies. The Reloaded edition bundles the complete experience into a single disc package. Those DLC packs added new vehicles, tracks, and race types that extended the game's already impressive variety. Having them included physically rather than as post-purchase downloads is exactly the kind of thing that ages well in a collection.

Here's the thing about PS3-era Greatest Hits and Reloaded variants: everyone ignored them at launch because they looked like bargain bin fodder. Now they're becoming harder to find because nobody bothered preserving them. The gaming community was so focused on chasing limited editions and steelbooks that complete editions like this slipped through the cracks entirely.

GRID Reloaded is a piece of racing game history from a studio that understood the genre better than almost anyone. For collectors building out a complete PS3 racing library, or anyone who appreciates the irony of a "budget" release becoming a genuine find, this Reloaded edition fills a gap that most people didn't know existed.
