NBA 2K10 10th Anniversary Edition

A full-size metal locker with a combination lock. Let that sink in for a second. The NBA 2K10 10th Anniversary Edition on Xbox 360 is one of the most absurdly ambitious collector's editions of the entire generation, arriving in a massive cardboard box that houses the game alongside a metal locker capable of holding 25 standard DVD or Blu-Ray cases.
They literally gave you furniture. Beyond the locker, you get a Kobe Bryant figurine, a Kobe poster, and a cardboard sleeve for the game case. This was 2K Sports celebrating a decade of their basketball franchise by going completely over the top, and the result is a collector's piece that commands attention on any shelf, or next to any shelf, given its size.
The Kobe figurine alone carries serious weight now as a piece of memorabilia honoring one of basketball's greatest. But that locker is the conversation starter. It's functional, it's ridiculous, and it's the kind of thing publishers simply don't do anymore.
If you can find one complete with all its contents, you've got a genuinely unique display piece from the golden age of oversized collector's editions.
