No figure, no poster, no fanfare. Just the game, a Goku costume, and a trading card. The Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Day One Edition on Playstation 3 is the version most players ended up with, the one that rewarded early adopters without asking them to commit to a full collector's set.

The Goku costume DLC is the headline here, letting you dress Naruto in full Dragon Ball gear because apparently saving the ninja world wasn't enough without a Kamehameha-adjacent aesthetic. It's the kind of ridiculous crossover bonus that Bandai Namco sprinkles into these releases, and it never stops being amusing. The trading card included is a small but tangible extra that gives this Day One Edition something physical to differentiate it from a standard copy.

For collectors, the Day One Edition occupies the foundation tier. It's the easiest version to find, the most commonly circulated, and the least flashy. But that doesn't make it irrelevant.

Completionists building a full Storm 3 set need this alongside the Will of Fire and True Despair editions. And unopened Day One copies with the DLC code intact have their own quiet appeal, since those codes become permanently unredeemable once PSN support for PS3 fully sunsets. Sometimes the simplest version tells the most straightforward story: you were there on day one.

That counts for something in any collection.
