The wasteland came with a Blu-ray and a license plate, and somehow that's exactly right. The Mad Max Post-Apocalypse Edition for PlayStation 4 leans into the film-meets-game crossover harder than most tie-in editions dare. The exclusive steelbook anchors the set, the collector's box gives it shelf presence, and the Ripper DLC drops you into Avalanche Studios' open-world desert with an edge.

But the two pieces that elevate this above standard fare are the mini license plate and the Mad Max Fury Road Blu-ray. That license plate is pure display material, a small, tangible slice of the Wasteland aesthetic that looks right at home next to die-cast vehicles and post-apocalyptic memorabilia. Including the Fury Road Blu-ray was a bold move, tying the game directly to George Miller's masterpiece and acknowledging that the two experiences feed each other.

Watch the film, then drive the Magnum Opus across the Great White. The loop works. For PS4 collectors, this edition occupies a unique space: part game, part movie memorabilia, all Wasteland.

It's the kind of cross-media set that doesn't come along often, and when the franchise goes quiet for years at a stretch, the Post-Apocalypse Edition only gets harder to find intact.
