Limited Run Games

Some games wear their absurdity like a badge of honor, and Spidersaurs is the one pinning it to your chest. The Limited Run #495: Spidersaurs Collector's Edition for PlayStation 4 packages WayForward's run-and-gun throwback in a retro-styled box that looks like it fell out of a 1993 rental store, and we mean that as the highest compliment. This is a game about genetically engineered spider-dinosaur hybrids threatening humanity, and somehow it plays like a lost Contra sequel that Konami forgot to ship.

The collector's extras lean hard into the in-universe worldbuilding. You get a Spidersaurs Cookbook, because apparently someone thought recipes involving arachnid-reptile cuisine needed documenting. There's a Victoria concert ticket and a Pizzextinction free pizza coupon, both gloriously non-functional, both perfect for the kind of collector who appreciates committed bit comedy in their physical media. The two-sided 18" x 24" poster pulls double duty with a Tips & Tricks map on the back, giving it actual utility alongside its wall presence. An Ingest parking sticker and original soundtrack round out a package that understands its own ridiculousness.

In a PS4 library dominated by massive open worlds and prestige narratives, a tightly designed arcade shooter with this much personality stands out. The retro-styled box alone earns shelf space. This is the kind of edition that makes visitors pick it up and ask questions, and that's exactly what a collector's piece should do.
