Sony distributed roughly 170 units through their "March for Helghan II" sweepstakes during the Killzone 3 beta period. Playfire handed out another 60 to early beta participants. Arstechnica gave away 10 through an email contest.

IGN and Men's Fitness distributed unknown quantities through their own giveaways. We're talking about a total production run that might not even crack 300 units worldwide. For PS3 collectors and Killzone faithful, this is the kind of scarcity that turns a collectible into a genuine artifact.

There's no buying one at launch, no pre-order window you missed. Every single copy that exists was won. That provenance alone makes it one of the most legitimately rare PS3 items in existence.
