Acquire's Edo-period stealth gem was nearly lost to PS2 obscurity, but collectors have a way of resurrecting the underappreciated. The Kamiwaza: Way of the Thief collector's edition for PlayStation 4 gives this cult classic a second life on disc with a set of extras that honor its Japanese heritage.

The Traditional Furoshiki Cloth is the crown jewel of this package. At 36 by 36 inches, it's a substantial piece of functional art rooted in the same cultural tradition as the game itself. Furoshiki have been used in Japan for centuries, and pairing one with a game about an Edo-period thief shows a level of thematic care that most collector's editions don't bother with. Display it flat, frame it, or actually use it to wrap something. It earns its place however you choose. The Crow Tengu Mask Enamel Pin draws from Japanese mythology with a design that's immediately eye-catching at roughly two inches tall.

The "Melodies of Edo" Soundtrack captures the game's traditional score on disc, a fitting companion for a PS4 library. Five Concept Art Cards document the visual development of a game most players never got to experience the first time around. The collector's box rounds out the set with cohesive packaging.

For PS4 collectors, Kamiwaza represents the kind of hidden gem that gains value over time, not just monetarily, but in the story it tells on your shelf. This is a disc-era release with real cultural substance. The collectors who grab it now are the ones who'll be glad they did later.
