Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition

PLAYSTATION 3
Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition
REGION 2

Rockstar didn't just make a special edition. They made a heist kit. The Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition for PlayStation 3 arrives in a black metal safe deposit box, complete with a working lock and key, a Rockstar-branded keychain attached to that key, and a black GTA IV duffel bag that looks like it belongs in the trunk of a getaway car.

Inside the lockbox, you'll find the game disc, a hardcover art book filled with production artwork, and a separate soundtrack disc in its own case. This is Rockstar at peak physical media ambition. The safe deposit box is made of actual metal, not cheap tin, and it has real heft to it.

The duffel bag is functional enough to use in the real world, which means most surviving copies are probably missing theirs. GTA IV was the game that proved open-world storytelling could compete with cinema, and Rockstar wrapped it in an edition that felt like an artifact from Liberty City itself. The art book alone is worth the hunt, packed with unseen illustrations that show how Niko Bellic's world was built.

Complete sets with the duffel bag in good condition are getting harder to locate. That's the kind of scarcity that makes this edition matter.
