Kratos didn't just tear through the Greek pantheon. He looked good doing it, and the God of War III Collectors Edition on Playstation 3 made sure we could too. This edition packages the defining action game of the PS3 generation with a set of three postcards and a DLC voucher that unlocked content most players never got to touch.

The real draw here is the digital extras. The Combat Arena gave you an exclusive environment with seven unique challenges, a proving ground that existed nowhere else in the game. On top of that, four character skins let you rip through the campaign wearing something other than Kratos's standard look. The Dominus skin, Apollo skin, Phantom of Chaos, and Forgotten Warrior each brought a different aesthetic to the carnage. In an era before cosmetic microtransactions became the norm, unlocking alternate skins through a collector's edition felt like joining an exclusive club.

The postcards are a nice tactile bonus, the kind of small physical insert that reminds you this was an era when publishers still put thought into what went inside the box. Nothing here screams extravagance, but that's part of the charm. This is a clean, focused collector's edition from a time when the PS3 was proving it could deliver cinematic experiences that justified the hardware. For God of War completionists building out their PS3 shelf, it fills a spot that matters.
