Who you gonna call when you need a collector's edition that doubles as movie night? The Ghostbusters The Video Game Special Edition on Playstation 3 bundled a copy of the original Ghostbusters movie on Blu-ray right alongside the game, making it one of the more cleverly packaged PS3 releases of 2009.

This game deserves more respect than it gets. Written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, with the full original cast lending their voices, it's essentially Ghostbusters 3 in playable form. We never got the proper sequel film while the original team was still together, but we got this. And honestly, it holds up as both a love letter and a legitimate continuation of the story.

The Special Edition was exclusive to certain PAL regions, including the UK and Germany, which immediately narrows the pool. The Blu-ray disc came tucked inside a paper envelope within the standard PS3 case. It's a simple presentation, sure, but the value proposition for collectors is the regional scarcity. PAL-exclusive variants have a way of becoming surprisingly hard to find once a generation wraps up. North American collectors who want the complete picture have to import, and that drives demand in a way that slow-burns over the years. For Ghostbusters fans who also collect PS3, this one checks every box. The game, the movie, the limited regional availability. It all adds up to a package that belongs on the shelf.
