The Far Cry 4 Limited Edition for PlayStation 3 bundles Ubisoft's open-world chaos with Hurk's Redemption, a three-mission story arc starring the series' most lovably unhinged character. If you remember Hurk from Far Cry 3, you already know this is going to involve explosions, questionable decisions, and at least one moment where you question everyone's survival instincts.

The three Hurk's Redemption missions take you from ice cave combat on snow-capped mountains to riding unusual vehicles with Hurk riding shotgun, culminating in a convoy chase to save him from certain death. It's peak Far Cry absurdity wrapped in exclusive content. And then there's the Impaler, an exclusive harpoon gun that does exactly what the name promises. It's the kind of weapon that makes you rethink your entire loadout.

The PS3 version of Far Cry 4 sits in that interesting last-gen window where major publishers were still supporting the old hardware while pushing everyone toward PS4. Fewer collectors held onto PS3 copies, and the Limited Edition was already a step above the standard release. Finding one complete with unused DLC codes is increasingly unlikely, but the physical package itself represents a specific moment in Far Cry's evolution. This was the game that proved Far Cry 3 wasn't a fluke, that Ubisoft had a genuine franchise on their hands. The Limited Edition is how it deserved to be experienced.
