ConnecTank (PS4)

ConnecTank on PlayStation 4 is one of those Strictly Limited Games releases that slipped past a lot of collectors, and that's exactly why it's worth paying attention to. This is an individually numbered, officially licensed PS4 disc limited to 1,500 copies worldwide, complete with an included manual.

The game itself is a delightfully odd mix of conveyor belt puzzling and tank combat. You're a courier for Finneas Fat Cat XV, one of New Pangea's top tycoons, piloting a massive tank through delivery routes that inevitably devolve into explosive battles. Craft ammo in real-time by connecting conveyor belts, blast your enemies to pieces, and salvage their tanks to add to your own collection of over 70 unlockable war machines. Patrick Baker of Regular Show wrote the story, so the humor hits that specific brand of cartoon absurdity that works perfectly here. Up to four players can jump in through local co-op, and with over 100 missions, no two runs play out the same.

A physical PS4 copy with a manual, individually numbered at 1,500 units. The disc era was good to us, and ConnecTank is a perfect example of the kind of quirky, under-the-radar title that physical collectors live for. This one's for the shelf.
