Breakers Collection Collector’s Edition (PS5)
Strictly Limited Games

Two cult-classic Neo Geo fighters that never got a proper Western release, finally arriving in a collector's edition that does their legacy justice. The Breakers Collection Collector's Edition for PlayStation 5 is a Strictly Limited Games exclusive limited to 1,000 individually numbered copies, packaging both Breakers and Breakers Revenge with a serious haul of physical extras.

Breakers debuted in Japanese arcades in 1996 on Neo Geo hardware, building a devoted fighting game community that kept the flame alive when the sequel, Breakers Revenge, followed in 1998. Both games pushed gorgeous 2D pixel art and rewarded tactical play over button-mashing. But since the only home release was a Japan-exclusive Neo Geo AES port of the first game, and Revenge never got a home version at all, Western players were left chasing imports and emulation. That era is over.

The collector's edition box is stacked. A Tia Langray headband and two sweat wristbands with the Breakers Collection logo. An acrylic diorama featuring Tia and Sho Kamui. A soundtrack CD covering both games. An arcade flyer reproducing the original Crystal Legacy prototype promotional material. A double-sided A2 poster, ten character cards, a lenticular card, a die-cut logo sticker, and a colorful game manual. The presentation is built for display.

QUByte's remaster adds a training mode, rollback netcode for online multiplayer, and ranked matchmaking to Revenge, bringing these fighters into the modern competitive landscape without losing the Neo Geo soul. On PS5, the pixel art pops on current displays, and the responsive controls feel right at home. For fighting game collectors who appreciate the deep cuts, this is a piece of arcade history given the premium physical treatment it always deserved.
