Beyblade: Metal Masters (Collectors Edition - Toys R Us)

Toys R Us always had a knack for exclusive variants, and the Beyblade: Metal Masters Collector's Edition from their shelves proves it. This DS bundle swaps the standard Beyblade for an exclusive Vulcan Horuseus 145 D Nile top, a retailer-specific variant that made the trip to Geoffrey's house worth the detour.

The DS game remains the same Metal Masters experience, with its anime-faithful tournament progression and stylus-driven battles. It's a capable adaptation of the series. But collector value here lives and dies with that Vulcan Horuseus top. As a Toys R Us exclusive, its distribution was limited to a single retailer that no longer exists, which adds a layer of scarcity that only grows with time. You can't walk into a Toys R Us and grab one off the shelf anymore. That era is gone.

For Beyblade collectors chasing complete retail variant sets, the Toys R Us edition sits in a difficult sweet spot. It wasn't the rarest of the four Metal Masters bundles at launch, but the closure of Toys R Us has turned anything exclusive to their shelves into a minor archaeological find. Pair that with the niche appeal of a DS Beyblade bundle and you've got something most collectors don't even know to look for, which is exactly when you should be looking.
