Beyblade: Metal Fusion (Collectors Edition)

Before Metal Masters came Metal Fusion, and the Beyblade: Metal Fusion Collector's Edition for DS started the tradition of bundling a functional Beyblade top with the handheld game. This one includes the Counter Leone D125B, a defense-type top that kicked off what would become a full lineup of retailer-exclusive variants.

Metal Fusion on DS adapts the first arc of the Metal Saga anime with RPG elements and real-time Beyblade battles on the touchscreen. It's the foundation for everything that followed in the DS Beyblade series. The Counter Leone pack-in is a legitimate, launchable top, not a miniature or a display piece. It's the kind of physical bonus that gave the collector's edition actual play value on top of its shelf appeal.

As the standard retail release of the Metal Fusion collector's editions, the Counter Leone variant had the widest distribution. But "widest" is relative when you're talking about a DS-era anime tie-in bundle. These weren't stocked in massive quantities, and the Beyblade collecting community has grown considerably since these hit shelves. The Metal Fusion bundles are the predecessors to the Metal Masters lineup, and owning both complete sets represents a serious commitment to DS-era Beyblade history. This standard edition is your entry point.
