Set sail under the black flag with an extra mission in your back pocket. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Special Edition on Xbox 360 included the Sacrificed Secrets solo mission, where you trace Captain Drake's lost treasures across the exotic island of Sacrifices, recovering golden flintlocks and a cutlass along the way. The Captain Kenway's Legacy pack added both single and multiplayer items to round out the package.

Black Flag is the one that even non-AC fans admit is great. Ubisoft turned an Assassin's Creed sequel into the best pirate game ever made, and the Special Edition gave collectors an extra slice of that open-ocean adventure. The Sacrificed Secrets mission isn't filler. It's a self-contained treasure hunt on a dedicated island, the exact kind of content that makes this franchise work when it's firing on all cylinders.

The Captain Kenway's Legacy items add visual identity to both your single-player Edward and your multiplayer persona, the sort of cosmetic exclusivity that feels better when it's earned through a physical purchase rather than a microtransaction. On the 360, where digital storefronts are winding down, having this content tied to a disc-based edition adds a preservation angle that only grows more relevant.

The Xbox 360 got some of the best Assassin's Creed entries during its lifespan, and Black Flag might be the most universally beloved of the lot. The Special Edition is the clean, no-fuss upgrade that tells anyone scanning your shelf that you picked the right version. Captain Kenway would approve.
