A whole new world of collecting just opened up. The Aladdin Legacy Cartridge Collection for Genesis brings back the Sega version of one of gaming's all-time great licensed titles as a brand-new playable cartridge, limited to 2,000 copies. You're getting either the translucent Ruby Red or the ultra limited Purple Gem Glow cartridge, both of which slot into a Genesis with the kind of visual pop that makes other carts on your shelf look plain.

The nostalgic clamshell packaging comes loaded with premium foil and gloss-embellished inserts, a format that immediately screams "Sega kid" to anyone who grew up in the early '90s. A full-color premium instruction booklet features restored artwork and a foreword by Mike Mika, while retro pack-in surprises add that analog era magic you can't replicate with a download code. Jango Snow Art & Design handled the custom package design and restoration, and Retrotainment Games alongside Infinite NES Lives handled manufacturing.

For those of us who picked Sega's side in the great Aladdin debate, this is validation in cartridge form. Virgin Interactive's animation system was ahead of its time, and this edition treats that legacy with the respect it deserves. Two thousand copies.
