Akai Ito & Aoi Shiro HD Remaster - Special Limited Edition (Nintendo Switch)
Strictly Limited Games

Two of Japan's most celebrated visual novels, previously locked behind a language barrier and a PS2 region wall, finally arriving in English on a single Switch cartridge. The Akai Ito and Aoi Shiro HD Remaster Special Limited Edition for Nintendo Switch is a Strictly Limited Games exclusive, individually numbered and limited to just 999 copies worldwide.

Akai Ito first released in 2004 and Aoi Shiro in 2008, both exclusively in Japan on PlayStation 2. They never received Western releases, making them the kind of titles that visual novel enthusiasts have whispered about for two decades. Akai Ito follows Kei as she inherits a mysterious mansion and uncovers dark truths about her family and the mountain god of Hemizuka. Aoi Shiro takes players to the folklore-rich town of Kakyouin, where ancient rituals and hidden powers shape everyone's fate. Both games blend romance with genuine horror, creating an atmosphere that's distinctly their own. Multiple branching paths and endings give each title serious replay value, and the HD remaster treatment brings the artwork up to modern standards.

This Special Limited Edition is loaded. You're getting the game with manual, a premium box, a four-CD soundtrack set covering both games plus bonus unreleased tracks, a large A3 poster, and postcards featuring the heroines in the games' distinctive art style. That four-disc soundtrack alone, with music that's never been released before, makes this package remarkable. Also included is the bonus game Onigiri no Oni. For visual novel collectors who've been waiting years for these titles to cross the ocean, 999 copies across the entire planet means hesitation isn't really an option.
